Extended Hours Access to GP Services in Dorking

Extra GP appointments now available

Now it is even easier for people to make an appointment with a GP, thanks to a new national ‘extended access’ initiative, which means hundreds of extra appointments every week for people living in the local area. As well as being able to visit your practice, now you can also book into evening and weekend consultations at new hub clinics, where extra appointments are available at a number of locations locally.

The extra appointments are being provided by local GP federations, which are made up of local GP practices, so you will be seen by a local GP.

As the appointments are provided by local GPs, with your consent, the GP will even be able to access your medical record, giving them access to all the information they need to provide the best possible care, even if your appointment is at a different location.

You can book into this new service by contacting your practice in the usual way.

If you would like more information please just ask at Reception.

GPs and Health Professionals can direct patients to self-refer or patients can self-refer themselves for DHC Talking Therapies.

First Contact Physiotherapists

We have First Contact Physiotherapists working with us at Brockwood Medical Practice.  These clinicians will assess, diagnose and refer, they will not provide treatment.  However, they can offer suggestions and guidance on how to manage a problem whilst waiting ongoing treatment and this often prevents patients' symptoms from getting worse  and on occasion helps the patient get better themselves.  They are highly trained, skilled and experienced in their field and are a better option to the patient than seeing a GP; They have a huge amount of information and guidance to give to the patient.  Appointment can be made with the physios for anything related to musculoskeletal issues, for example, painful neck/whiplash, painful back/sciatica, painful knees, joint pain/stiffness, muscle aches, sprained ankles, tennis elbow, in general anything where the patient may describe pain, tingling, numbness, stiffness or weakness relating to a muscle, bone or joint.
